Over 25 years of excellence in Italian dental implantology
Titanmed: a long-established company in the manufacturing of dental implants
MADE IN ITALY
Quality has always been our strength, enabling us to establish ourselves as a trusted name in the Italian dental implantology sector.

Titanmed products are Certified Medical Devices.
We are currently working towards compliance with the new Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

Our facility covers an area of 2,000 m², of which 1,400 m² are entirely dedicated to production.
Our department is equipped with 12 Swiss-type CNC lathes, dedicated washing systems, and in-house surface treatment plants.
Bringing key processes in-house, such as sandblasting, acid etching, anodization and decontamination under a laminar flow hood, allows us to maintain a high standard of control, ensuring consistent quality guided by rigorous certified protocols.
At Titanmed, everything starts with the material:
We select and use certified medical-grade titanium, chosen to ensure high-quality dental implantology and long-term stability. The titanium we use is imported from the United States and arrives with a technical data sheet for each batch, allowing us to trace the materials and provide clinicians with technical data upon request.

Production:
In-process quality controls: this initial stage involves random checks carried out during production directly at the machine to monitor process stability.
Controlli in corso d’opera: questa prima fase prevede controlli a campione eseguiti durante la produzione a bordo macchina per monitorare la stabilità del processo.
The first quality checks:
At the end of the machining process, the components undergo numerous visual, dimensional and functional checks.
The electron microscope is a crucial tool for final inspection: it allows us to measure diameters and depths that are difficult to detect with traditional instruments and to inspect the inside of the implant at high resolution. We typically verify micrometric tolerances of the connection geometries and surface regularity, which directly affect prosthetic function and insertion into the bone.

Industrial cleaning:
After machining, each component undergoes an industrial cleaning cycle to remove machining residues and surface contaminants.
The process takes place at high temperature and under vacuum, using an alcohol-based solution specifically formulated to ensure deep cleaning without altering the treated surface.
Quality control:
Quality is verified on 100% of our products: each component has a quality control sheet with a detailed checklist covering dimensional, functional and visual inspections. The recorded values are then archived, and reports are retained to ensure full traceability.

SL Surface Treatment:
Titanmed has developed its own SL surface treatment, designed to optimize osseointegration processes and improve the connection between the implant and the bone. The SL process is structured in two main stages:
Acid-etching step: a proprietary procedure consisting of a controlled sequence of 13 steps that further increase the surface roughness.
Step di acidatura: una procedura proprietaria, composta da una sequenza controllata di 13 passaggi che aumentano ulteriormente la rugosità.
Decontamination and primary packaging:
After the SL treatment, the implants undergo a final decontamination process in a certified cleanroom and are then placed in the primary packaging. The decontamination process takes place in several stages to remove both inorganic and organic residues that could compromise osseointegration.
Decontamination of inorganic substances takes place during the surface treatment stages. Decontamination of organic substances is carried out through plasma reactor treatment inside the cleanroom.

The secondary packaging and subsequent sterilization:
After the implant is placed in the primary packaging in the cleanroom, each component is packaged in the secondary packaging.
The packages are then subjected to the final sterilization process according to the validated method. After sterilization and final inspection, the dental implants are ready for distribution to clinics and dental practices.
